Structured executive program
The Decision Discipline
Program™
Your last AI engagement ended in a slide deck. This one ends in funded workflows, named owners, and a 90-day delivery clock.
Designed for organisations at Level 1–2 on the AI Maturity Spectrum™
Sydney & Melbourne
Most programs end with a strategy deck nobody reads. This one ends with commitments your board can track.
One program. Three phases.
The same rigour every time.
Decision Discipline is a structured program — not a bespoke engagement. Every client goes through the same sequence. The rigour is the product.
Diagnose
Assess maturity, surface gaps, map reality.
Frameworks
AI Maturity Spectrum™ + Pilot Purgatory Score™ + Employee AI Survey
Decide
Select which initiatives to fund, kill, or park.
Frameworks
Decision Discipline™ Principles + Value Zone Method™
Deliver
Ship funded workflows with accountability.
Frameworks
90-Day Cadence™ + Investable Bet Gate™ + Observability Scorecard
The Board-Ready Pack
Four deliverables your board can fund.
Workshop artefacts converted into fundable decisions, governance controls, and a measurable shipping cadence. Delivered within one week.
Portfolio of Bets
3–5 funded workflows tied to value buckets. Named owner, success metric, baseline, and kill criteria per bet. Status: Funded / Parked / Killed — with rationale.
0→90-Day Shipping Cadence
Dates and proof gates — not Gantt charts. Gate 1 / Gate 2 / Gate 3 pass conditions. Milestones and escalation paths visible to leadership.
Risk + Compliance Register
Key risks, mitigations, owners, review frequency. Guardrails and exception handling rules. Shadow AI controls and accountability paths.
Review Cadence + Accountability
Review rhythm for evidence and decisions. Funding expands only with proof. Delays become visible, excuses don't survive.
The Program
Interviews. Survey. Workshop. Delivery.
Not a two-day event — a structured sequence that installs decision-making capability.
Weeks 1–2
Executive Interviews + Employee AI Survey
60-minute interviews with 3–5 key owners. Map current AI activity, blockers, political dynamics, investment history. In parallel, an organisation-wide survey deployed to all staff.
Week 3
Two-Day Working Session
Your exec team makes binding commitments — not theoretical plans. Four chapters across two days.
Day 1
Collect
Lock rules. Define success. Agree guardrails. Surface friction. Present employee survey results.
Choose
Map workflows. Apply Value Zone Method™. Score and gate. Lock funded workflows.
Day 2
Create
Pressure-test funded workflows. Surface blockers. Check incentive alignment.
Commit
Assign owners. Apply Investable Bet Gate™. Define metrics. Set kill criteria. Lock 90-Day Cadence.
Weeks 4–5
Board-Ready Pack
Workshop artefacts converted into four board-ready deliverables. Ready for your next board meeting.
Optional
30 or 90-Day Steering
External accountability, blocker removal, and cadence reviews. The 90-day tier includes Baby Steps™ delivery cycles and monthly board-ready progress reports. Ships your first workflow.
Recommended — most organisations revert to old patterns within 30 days without external accountability.
Investment
The right scope depends on your team.
We scope every engagement in the discovery call based on your team's internal execution capacity and how much support you need through delivery. We work with 2–3 organisations per quarter.
Program only
Framework and decisions locked. For teams with internal capacity to drive delivery after the working session.
Program + 30-day steering
Hands-on support through the first delivery cycle. Weekly check-ins, workflow builds, and adoption guidance until the cadence is self-sustaining.
Program + full quarter embedded
I stay embedded for 90 days. Every Baby Steps™ cycle tracked, every Investable Bet through to production. For teams building AI capability from the ground up.
20 minutes. We'll confirm fit and scope — or point you somewhere better.
The cost of waiting
Every month without an operating model is money burning.
per month in delayed value realisation while pilots sit in purgatory
on vendor tools and licenses that nobody actually uses
on strategy decks that never led to a single workflow in production
Most organisations spend 3-5x the program cost on stalled pilots every quarter.
"The key is very much about being able to build the leadership muscle of the ELT to leverage uncertainty, work with uncertainty, and then to be able to translate that down to their workforce where most people prefer a certain view of the world."
Is This Right For You?
Right fit / Not a fit
This program is for you if:
- You're running 5+ AI pilots with nothing made it to production
- Your board is asking for progress but the path forward is unclear
- Teams are experimenting but there's no executive or committee owner with delivery authority
- Risk and compliance are blocking pilots because guardrails don't exist
- You have 200-2,000 employees and real appetite to make AI operational
- You have 1–3 AI workflows live in production, but your technical team is the only person who can maintain or expand them
- You need operational structure and a clear handoff plan — not more pilots
This is not for you if:
- You're just exploring what AI could do (you need strategy consulting, not us)
- You want training on how to use ChatGPT (this is not an upskilling program)
- You're looking for someone to build the tech (we don't write code or train models)
- Your execs can't commit two full days or six 90-minute sessions
Frequently Asked Questions
Hell no. Most strategy engagements give you a 60-page deck and a Miro board nobody looks at. This is a structured program: interviews, an employee-wide survey, a two-day executive working session, and post-session steering. You don't leave with ideas, principles, or a roadmap. You leave with commitments: funded workflows, named owners, success metrics, and a 90-day delivery plan.
The full program runs 4–5 weeks: Weeks 1–2: Executive interviews with 3–5 key owners, plus an employee-wide AI survey deployed across the organisation. Week 3: Two-day working session — four chapters (Collect, Choose, Create, Commit). This can be delivered consecutively or split across two weekday sessions. Weeks 4–5: Board-Ready Pack delivered — portfolio of bets, shipping cadence, risk register, and review accountability. Optional 30-day or 90-day steering follows to unblock delivery, surface risks, and adjust priorities based on what's actually happening.
8–15 participants. A CEO, CFO, COO, or Steering Committee chair must sponsor and attend. Functional leaders who own the workflows must be present. One or two operators who know where work actually happens should be in the room. This is not a spectator event. Every participant is there because they can influence outcomes.
That's exactly who this program is for. Most organisations don't stall because they lack ideas. They stall because pilots were never designed to transition into funded, owned workflows. The program takes what you already have and builds the missing operating model: owners, metrics, guardrails, and a delivery cadence your board can track—exactly what mid-market orgs (200-2K employees) need to move from pilots to production.
Usually, no. Most pilots never reach production not because the technology is unproven, but because no one owns the decision to fund, scale, or kill them. If a workflow has: - real data - real value - and a willing owner then extending experimentation often delays the decisions that matter. This program exists to decide what deserves to exist in production, not to prolong testing.
Within one week, you receive a Board-Ready Pack that includes: - a portfolio summary of funded workflows - a 90-day delivery roadmap - an owner accountability matrix - a risk and compliance register A Week 2 Momentum Check covers what's been delivered since the session, what stalled, what changed in the workflow map, what decisions are blocked, and what you need from exec sponsors. You leave knowing whether you're self-driving or need ongoing support. Optional 30-day or 90-day steering follows to unblock delivery, surface risks, and adjust priorities based on what's actually happening.
Yes. Virtual delivery runs as six 90-minute sessions via Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams. This format works well when: - technology is stable and pre-tested - participants can commit to uninterrupted time - senior decision-makers attend all sessions Deliverables and outcomes are the same. The structure simply changes to maintain momentum in a virtual setting.
It depends on your team's internal execution capacity — and we'll work that out together in the discovery call. If you have strong internal project management and just need the framework and decisions locked, the core program is usually enough. If your team tends to lose momentum between sessions or hasn't built AI workflows before, hands-on support through the first delivery cycle makes a significant difference. If you're building AI capability from the ground up with limited internal capacity, staying embedded for the quarter is what gets things to muscle memory. We'll recommend the right scope in the discovery call — and we'll tell you honestly if a lighter engagement is the right fit.
Sessions are scheduled based on leadership availability. During the discovery call, we'll identify dates that work for your team. Sessions run two full days in Sydney or Melbourne (two consecutive days, or split across two weeks), or virtually if agreed. Program dates typically fill 4-6 weeks in advance.
Full refund if cancelled more than 30 days before the session 50% refund if cancelled 14–30 days before No refund if cancelled less than 14 days before We'll work with you to reschedule where possible.
We'll tell you during the 20-minute discovery call. If it's not a fit, we'll point you somewhere better. There's no hard sell, and no pressure to proceed.
